Komercon Assets & Services is entering a new growth phase. With an ambitious agenda to further develop and scale projects that convert agricultural residues and organic waste into high-value biobased commodities, the company has been actively searching for a Managing Director to lead this effort.
Today, Komercon is pleased to announce the appointment of Pieter Verberne as Managing Director of Komercon Assets & Services. Pieter will be responsible for shaping and expanding a strong project portfolio in close collaboration with partners, with a focus on the development, investment, and operation of innovative installations.
The main investment priorities of Komercon Assets & Services are torrefaction and carbonisation projects, producing biocarbon as sustainable feedstocks for industry, as well as the creation of a Commodity Passport for waste and biomass streams, designed to improve transparency, traceability, and sustainability across the value chain.
Pieter brings more than two decades of industry experience. He previously served as COO of the energy exchange APX Group, as General Manager Energy at AkzoNobel, and as founder of CarbonOrO, a carbon capture company. His background combines operational leadership, strategic energy expertise, and entrepreneurial drive, an excellent fit for the mission and growth ambitions of Komercon Assets & Services.
“With Pieter on board, we are confident that Komercon Assets & Services will take the next step in building impactful projects and partnerships across the bio-based and circular economy,” said John Bouterse, CEO Komercon Holding.
We warmly welcome Pieter to the Komercon team and wish him every success in his new role.
